29 Weeks!!!

29 Weeks and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, except for Baby Goertz :)
The 28 week doctor's appointment was on Tuesday and everything is moving along smoothly! Her heartbeat is 161 beats per minute. YAY!!
I seriously yelled, "Yes!!" When she told me my cervix was closed. I guess you never know how you're going to react until you're in that situation. But I assure you that if everything is still closed in 11 weeks, yes will not be the response.
The glucose test came back normal, so we get to sit back and enjoy the final 11 weeks of pregnancy.
The hustle and bustle of Christmas has moved in and as I was wrapping presents on the floor last night, not being able to reach the end of the wrapping paper for the big belly in the way, I just had to smile. The weird thing about pregnancy is that as it is getting closer to the end, the less the heartburn and the middle of the night dance parties bother me.
Because one day very soon, she will be here-which will be amazing and please understand that I cannot wait to meet her and see her, but it will be completely different, so while she is always with me and I get to feel her practicing her moves throughout the day, I will smile and savor this time, because I will never have it back.
Thank you God for this blessing and the blessing of being pregnant. May I remember your love and grace at 12:30 in the morning when I awake from heartburn and dance parties.

Reuben and Julie's Wedding

Justin and I went to Reuben and julie's wedding on October 9th. It was awesome! Justin and Reuben work together, so I got to meet a lot of Justin's terrific co-workers and celebrate Reuben and Julie. They are such a wonderful couple. We also got to celebrate with Amanda and Jeff, who are fantastic! We had blast!
Thank you for the great times.

28 Weeks

28 Weeks and the belly button is holding on for dear life. Heartburn has moved in and Gabrielle (we're trying it out-still not decided) has decided that she is a tap dancer. Oh and she prefers the right side and only the right side. I webble wobble when I walk. :)
We are so blessed.

27 Weeks

27 Weeks!! Where does the time go? In the past week, Justin and I have driven over 33 hours (and survived-thank God for Saul, Cheryl, Justin, and pregnancy pillows), attended a very special wedding of close friends (Congratulations Ryan and Melanie Jones, spent time with family and friends, watched OSU get beat by OU, and baby is now the size of a head of cauliflower. What at terrific Thanksgiving 2010!! Oh and the baby is kicking like crazy and always in the same spot. Is that normal??
If you are wondering if that is a Chrsitmas shirt that you can barely see in the picture, you would be correct. It's the most wonderful time of the year, well Christmas and March 4th :) This weekend Justin and I decorated the inside and outside of the house for Christmas and put up the Christmas tree all while listening to Christmas music and drinking Hot Chocolate. Is beginning to look a lot like Christmas at the Goertz house.

26 Weeks

Pregnancy lesson #26: What you look like no longer matters nearly as much as it once did. Once your belly hits a certain mark-can you spend too much time worrying about your looks? I look at myself in pictures now and it's kind of an out of body experience. In my head, I still look the same as I always have, you know-sans belly, but wow-when you see it in pictures. Wow!!
The belly sure is growing-the girl is 15 inches now and almost 2 pounds-now where did the other 28 pounds come from?? There is something very freeing about checking your ego at the door in order to take these pictures to capture this special occasion for your baby. Honestly, I might not have followed through if I didn't want to do this for her, but am so glad I have continued to take the pictures. It will be nice to have a record of this time and sometimes you just have to check yourself and realize that your figure just isn't as important as it once was. With that being said Happy Thanksgiving-I hope you all will enjoy the holiday and all it's glory with me. Because next year-it's back to watching the waistline :)

25 Weeks

25 weeks and the belly is growing. She has started moving a lot now and it feels so funny. How
do you explain to your baby that you are in an important meeting with your boss and now is not the time? I am learning one very important lesson of motherhood-you don't. You cannot explain anything to your baby nor would they understand. So as a mommy, you grin and pretend that your child hasn't decided that right then in the middle of your very important meeting will be the first time she decides to start kicking you-hard :)

24 Weeks

6 months along. Baby Goertz is getting so big. Her dad felt her moving last night and was so excited. Our 24 week check up is next Tuesday, so I'll keep you posted if there is any news. I think it'll just be a routine exam though. We finished our childbirth class this weekend-yay!! It seems like this pregnancy is just flying by-maybe it's keeping track of each week. Speaking of keeping track-Baby Goertz is now the size of an eggplant.
We also have the names narrowed down to:
Ella Grace Goertz
Gabrielle Grace Goertz
Isabella Marie Goertz
Stella Marie Goertz
We'll keep working on it.

23 Weeks

We thought it would be nice to get Samson and Tyson in the picture. Unfortunately Ty Ty didn't show up very well. Well 23 weeks-Time is certainly flying by. Justin and I started our childbirth class today, and feel much more informed. I have also started pre-natal yoga and am loving it. This time is so precious.

Baby Goertz's Crib-literally!!

Justin and I have been working on getting Baby Goertz's room put together and well here is a start. We have the crib, dresser, changer, and bed.
There is still so much to do, but I think we are going to register next weekend and our baby birthing classes begin next Saturday!!
With having a baby, it is so excited, but there is so much I have to learn. Like this past weekend for example, I tried on three or four pairs of my pre-pregnancy pants before I realized that my hips have gotten bigger. Now I'm not real sure if that's the baby, the ice cream, or both, but either way-YIKES!! Looks like I will be getting some khaki maternity pants after all. :) Oh and baby and I are eating a bit healithier just in case!!
Oh and a big thank you to my sweet husband for putting together the hutch and the crib all by himself. He has gotten so good, he had the crib put together by the time I got out of the shower-come to think of it, maybe we better test out that crib before the baby comes.

22 Weeks

22 Weeks and this pregnancy is flying by. Well it's official, my pre-pregnancy pants no longer fit and healthier eating may be in order. I think I've taken this eating for 2 a bit too literally, but we sure have enjoyed ourselves :)
Baby Goertz is moving like crazy and Justin felt her for the first time this weekend. His jaw dropped and I could tell he was in shock!!
In honor of the Rangers being in the World Series, we thought the rangers shirt was appropriate for this picutre, but you can't really tell when looking at it.
To our daughter...we love you so much and cannot wait to meet you!!

Go Pokes!!

Justin and I went to Stillwater for the OSU Homecoming game against Nebraska on Saturday, October 23rd. Unfortunately, we had a better time than the Pokes.

With the baby bump, Pistol Pete looks a bit like Jay Leno!!

21 Weeks

21 weeks and I'm losing my belly button. I thought all of these changes happened closer to the end than the middle, but it sure is fun!!

Baby Goertz has started moving and that is exciting. The other night I felt sea sick she was moving so much!!

Dad got the crib put together!! Yay! Her room is really coming together.

Dinner with Dad

Justin and I got to have lunch with my dad when he was in town. It was so great getting to see him and spend some time with him.
I cannot believe how much he and are look alike sometimes. I wonder if Baby Goertz will take after her Momma and Grandpa!!

Monday, October 18, 2010

Hello...with love from, Baby Goertz

Baby Goertz was sweet enough to look at us and wave at her last sonogram appointment. This is her at 20 weeks.
Is she not the most beautiful baby you have ever seen :)
I don't know that I have ever been so emotional-looking at our baby girl and she was looking at us and waving.
I am forever changed.

Baby Goertz is a GIRL!!!!

It's official-Baby Goertz is a girl!! Not sure what we are looking at here, but it told the doctor that we are having a baby girl! Justin and I are so excited!! Well-he may be a bit scared, but is very excited!!

Justin's Birthday

Some terrific friends helped us celebrate Justin's 31st birthday. His last birthday without a baby. We had a great night. We went to Grimaldi's for dinner and Mi Cocina for drinks and dessert. Unfortunately this is the only picture we captured that evening.
Thanks for the picture, Ginger!!

20 Weeks

Where does the time go? At 20 weeks, we are halfway through the pregnancy! Yikes!! The good news is that we have moved the picture taking into Baby Goertz's room. Here I'm standing between the crib and dresser. Tyson also appreciated the photo opportunity.

19 Weeks

Okay-I promise you I fix myself up from time to time. At least everyday for work-unfortunately I don't take pictures of myself then-but maybe I should start. I think this picture was taking after a 2 mile walk Justin and I took Samson and Tyson on. Oh and we moved to the dining room because there is more room there!! Behind me you can see the baby furniture boxes left over. Yay baby furniture!! Next week is 20 weeks and the half way point.

I am loving being pregnant so much that I am not sure I'm ready for all of this-half way!! It's going by so quickly. I love having her with me and knowing she is safe! And all of that is going to end very soon!! On the other hand, I can't wait to meet our precious baby and see what he/she looks like.

We find out Monday if it is a boy or a girl, so I will post an update then!!

18 Weeks

Time is just flying by. I can't believe 18 weeks are here. I remember being excited that our baby was the size of a blueberry and now she's the size of a mango!!

I should really start taking some pictures with my shirt down. This is getting embarassing!!

17 Weeks

Still looking tired, but loving pregnancy. Afraid I am going to have to start wearing maternity clothes pretty soon.
My Mom and Ric are coming in town this weekend to help us clean out the garage. One morning on my way to work, I tripped over a comforter and fell. It is so much different falling now because all you think abou tis protecting that baby. I threw my shoulder out of place and landed on my knee, but Baby Goertz was protected!! YAY!!

16 Week Check up

It's official...
Our doctor thinks I have lost my mind. Justin and I went to visit Baylor Frisco, where we believe we will have our baby, and can I tell you the lady running the show stopped to ask if I was alright because I looked like I was going to pass out and to be honest I probably was. She was talking about things that happen in the room where they happen and I was not at all ready to have all that knowledge.

My problem is that I'm a planner, so I am not ready to know things about the end of my pregnancy; However, being that I am a planner, I feel the need to get as much accomplished as possible.

Important news: Baby is completely wonderful. Her heart rate is 155 bpm and we will get an in depth sonogram at our 20 week appointment and find out it Baby Goertz is in fact a girl!!

16 Weeks

16 Weeks! Wow! I can hardly believe it. I have a bit of a confession, I have been taking my picture, or asking Justin to rather, 1sst thing in the morning, because I tend to get more pregnant throughout the day and unfortunately, this morning I think it came back to bit me becuase I look exhausted and the belly is still sticking out, so there you go. Our appointment is on Tuesday, so I'll have to post what the doctor says!

Sunday, September 12, 2010

15 weeks

I promise I am not sticking the belly out. It used to be funny to stick my belly out, but now that it won't go back in, it's not so funny!!
As you can see the belly is growing, although I am going to have to start taking pictures with my shirt down, or I am afraid I will never hear the end of it from my future teenager!!
Next Tuesday we go in for our 16 week check up. I will keep you all updated.
But for now we are working on names... I never realized what a big decision naming your baby is.

Accents

Rumor has it that if your baby hears accents while in the belly, she is more likely to have an accent when she arrives and begins talking. Based on this information, I have decided that Justin needs to speak in only an Irish accent when around me or the baby until she starts talking. I really want her first sentence to be,"Top of the Morning to ya!" I would do it, but my accent skills aren't as developed as my lovely husbands.

I am pretty sure this is not too much to ask.

Your support is appreciated and if you, too, would like to speak with an accent, much is appreciated-although Irish is preferred!!

Week 14

Wow!! That baby is growing. I decided that I would wear all of my old clothes to work at least once before breaking out the maternity gear and am having to get very creative. My shirts are no longer buttoning!!-Well, at least not after lunch.

We couldn't be happier.

Week 13 Sonogram pictures

I can't figure out how to fix that picture, but the doctor says she is doing great. Based on her length, she is 7.8 centimeters, she is measuring about a week early, so she is 13 weeks, 6 days based on her measurement. She is strong and healthy with 2 arms, 2 legs, and is moving and stretching in there.
Oh and yes, we are tentitively calling her a she because the doctor is 99% sure it's a GIRL!!! He pointed to a white horizontal line that he said means Baby Goertz will be a girl. Justin will be standing by for any support or advice you have. I think he was a bit more than shocked that he is going to have a daughter :)
We will find out for sure in October-until then we are only buying unisex baby things, just to be safe.

Week 10

Good afternoon Baby,

Today you are the size of a lime! That seems so big, but you have been the size of a seed what seems like forever. I cannot wait to meet you, to hug you, to see your sweet face. You are a blessing and a gift. 25% of the way done!! Wow! It has gone by so quickly, and yet so slowly. So far your daddy and I have painted your room, bought your furniture and are currently getting new carpet. We're pulling out the stops for you :)

There is so much I want to know:

Let's see how I do...

Are you a girl or a boy? Boy
Who do you look like? Your daddy
When will you arrive? March 10th
Who's personality will
have? Both

I love you and can't wait to meet you!!

Baby Goertz

Today I saw the first picture of my baby. I don't mean to brag, but...

Baby Goertz is doing very well. Her (or his) heart is beating 170-175 beats per minute. The doctor said she even saw some movement!! Our baby is so advanced.

Justin is going to be a Daddy

I wanted to tell Justin in a special way that he was going to be a father, so Rachel and I went shopping. We got a father to be book, an I love daddy bib, a couple of daddy onesies, some Dallas cowboy pacifiers, and a card that said congratulations Daddy. Attached is a video of his face right after . I tried to video him opening everything, but didn't hit record, so this is the video of right after, when I meant to hit stop.

Baby Goertz

Friday, July 2nd 9:30am, as Justin left for work, I told him I had a big day of making cake balls-I had no idea what was coming next.

After he left, I was trying to decide why I have not started, but I knew that pregnancy was not an option. You see, I had planned on starting Clomid in July, but you don't begin Clomid until day 5 of your cycle, so I needed to start in order to get pregnant. I have this all worked out-based on my schedule, I will start Clomid on July 7th and Justin and I will finally get pregnant-after only 13 short months of trying :) I decide that I am just freaking myself out, so I need to take a pregnancy test, it will come back negative, I will start, and then be on my way to making a baby!!

I went upstairs and took a pregnancy test and in a few short seconds, it comes back with two lines-pregnant. I was so shocked I checked to make sure it was a pregnancy test. I took a picture of the test and sent it to Staci and Ginger. Then I took a shower. I tried not to get excited because this is the first pregnancy test I have ever seen. I had never even seen a positive ovulation predictor kit, so again how could I be pregnant?

I decide to take a second different type of pregnancy test and a plus sign shows up almost immediately. I was so excited, I was officially pregnant!!

But now how do I tell Justin...

This just in...

I originally started the blog because I thought it sounded like a great way to record the way Justin's and my life changed after getting married. As of July 2nd, we will now use this blog to record our lives as we become parents.

Baby Goertz due March 4th, 2011!!
